This Privacy Policy applies to this website and any other website, application, or other online service that links to this Privacy Policy, including author websites and online services, however accessed and/or used, that are operated or otherwise made available by Langrick Media d/b/a Wonderwell (collectively referred to as the “Sites”).

The Sites are used to promote the books and authors published by Langrick Media d/b/a Wonderwell, a California corporation located in Los Angeles. The Sites are linked to a commercial email newsletter service that visitors may subscribe to and social network pages maintained by the company.

The Sites solicit and may collect some personal information (“Personal Data”) from someone who visits the Sites (“Guest”) as well as aggregated usage information (“Usage Data”).

This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets out the types of Personal Data and Usage Data collected and how such information is collected and used. It also explains what rights Guests who have provided Personal Data have to access or change it.

Personal Data can include a Guest’s name, email address, website address. It may also include the IP Address used to access the site and when they consented to this policy and other terms of use relating to the Sites. Usage Data can include aggregated information from Guests about geographic location, access device, what sites/pages referred Guests to the Sites, and how Guests navigated or used the Sites. If other types of Personal Data or Usage Data are collected, that information will be covered by this Privacy Policy and a dedicated explanation at the point of collection will be provided.

Guests assume responsibility for the Personal Data of any third party published or shared by them through the Sites and declare to have the right to communicate or broadcast that Personal Data, thus relieving the Data Controller of all responsibility.

HOW PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED

The Data Controller stores and processes Personal Data and Usage Data using employees, contractors, commercial third-party hosting and other service providers (“Data Processors”).

Access to the Personal Data and Usage data may be available to the Data Processors or their personnel if required to operate the Sites and respond to Guests. The updated list of current Data Processors may be requested from the Data Controller at any time.

The Data Controller has implemented appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or unauthorized destruction of Personal Data and Usage Data.

The Personal Data and Usage Data is kept for the time necessary to provide the service requested by the Guest, or stated by the purposes outlined in this document, and the Guest can always request the Data Controller for their suspension or removal of their Personal Data.

USE OF PERSONAL DATA AND USAGE DATA

Personal Data and Usage Data are collected to enable us to operate the Sites, market books, provide services including newsletters, fan groups, giveaways, and contests, to respond to requests, and to improve visitor experiences.

Personal data is used to send Wonderwell newsletters where we have consent to do so. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided at the end of each newsletter. We currently use Mailchimp to manage our email marketing subscriber list and to send emails to our subscribers. Mailchimp is a third-party provider, which may process your data using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our newsletter. For operation and maintenance purposes, these Sites and any third party services may collect files that record visitor interactions with the Sites (“System Logs“) or use for this purpose other information (such as a visitor’s IP Address).

Personal Data and Usage Data may be used for legal purposes by the Data Controller in any legal action arising from improper use of the Sites or related services.

EXTERNAL LINKS

Throughout the Sites, there are links to third party sites and online stores where the book (or e-book, audiobook, or other related product) can be purchased. We don’t control these third party sites and this Privacy Policy does not apply to them. Please consult the terms and conditions and Privacy Policy of the relevant third party site to find out how that site collects and uses your information. We may earn a commission from qualifying purchases resulting from a Guest clicking through from the Sites to an online store, and then going on to make a purchase.

GUESTS RIGHTS

Guests have the right, at any time, to know whether their Personal Data has been stored and can consult the Data Controller to learn about the content and origin of such Personal Data, to verify its  accuracy or to ask for it to be supplemented, cancelled, updated or corrected, or for their transformation into anonymous format or to block any data held in violation of the law, as well as to oppose their treatment for any and all legitimate reasons. Requests should be sent to the Data Controller using the current contact links on this website.

Citizens of the European Union have the additional rights provided by the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”). These include, but are not limited to: The Right to be Forgotten; the Right of Access; the Right of Portability; and the Right to be Notified About Any Breaches. Any European citizen wishing to exercise any of these rights relative to the data collected by this site may contact the Data Controller at any time, using the current contact links on this website.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

The Data Controller reserves the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time by giving notice on this page. It is strongly recommended to check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification listed at the bottom. If a Guest objects to any of the changes to the Policy, the Guest must cease using the Sites and can request the Data Controller to erase the Guest’s Personal Data. Unless stated otherwise, the then-current Privacy Policy applies to all Personal Data and Usage Data the Data Controller has about Guests.
